I am joining the group to Alaska. I'm leaving early to visit family in Minnesota and avoid the long days at the start. Ride report will be here.

I have been remodeling my house, in preparation to sell. I have had little time to ride, and thankful I prepared for the trip months ago. My bike and I are covered in the dust of demolition and construction. Time to blow it all off. I leave Wednesday, July 6.

Stars have not aligned. I will not be leaving early. I will be leaving with the group on Saturday. Stay tuned :)

Here is what has to go: bags on left, top to bottom - tank, rear seat, rear rack. Gear - sleeping bag/pillow, air pad, chair, cold weather gear, hip bag(thanks A&M for that idea ), shovel/hatchet, tent, fuel bottles, clothes, shower bag, tools swimsuit, plus food/cooking stuff.



And packed with small cooler filled with food/cooking gear on top. Still working on securing the fuel bottles.

the link looks good. Just make sure when you turn your SPOT on that you press the button (probably a footprint) and make sure it starts flashing. That is what will ping the satellite every 5 mins or so and send an update with your position so SPOT can pin it on the map (which will show up in the link you shared once it has points to plot.).
