Wheeler Wildlife Refuge has a lot of gates open now, but not for long. They will close on March 1st.

Starting the Truck Trail at the beginning.

I-65 South was at a stand still.

Tree tunnels.

One of the sections that is rarely open.

A chain link fence in the middle of the woods. I initially thought it was a wild life exclusion fence. Maybe part of a Refuge study area (I saw some of these when I was in college), but It's too short to keep deer out. So I don't know.

It gets a bit crawfishy in there!

Too early for a sunset photo.

Louis bluff road dead ends at Lewis bluff according to google maps.

The fenced in area was an old research weather station operated by Alabama A&M under a permit from the refuge.

Franklin County, Alabama.
Well, that is sort of helpful. Lat/lon perhaps of the bridges? Of an access trail to reach?
