TNF / East AL Dual Sport Ride, Sunday Oct. 21

Meet at Coleman Lake in TNF, KSU @ 9am.

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7838233,-85.5601391,17z

There's a $3.00 Day Use Fee that I pay to leave my truck/trailer in the parking lot. If you're riding over, no need to pay.

We'll make a loop north toward Cedartown, find some lunch, and head back to Coleman via dirt roads.

Route should be doable by big bikes.

this is going to be so much fun!

bring your dual sport and your need for grins !
just give 'er the berries !

Take lots of pictures for those of us who won't be able to make it!
I'll never be old enough to ride a sportbike responsibly...

The plan was to stop by Highland Park and see if they were grilling burgers around lunchtime. Looks like they're having a Hare Scramble race Sunday, so hopefully there'll be food...if not, we'll slide into Cedartown and find some grub.

you can download this kmz file to use in Google Earth (p c and phone), basecamp (garmins bastardization of mapping), and whatever phone app you like to use.

Naturally this worked in Google Earth. It uploaded to basecamp, but I don't see it on the map. I love basecamp, it makes every ride an adventure, you never know where you are.

Probably be done NLT 4pm.

It's mostly dirt/gravel roads. There is one section that's a little rocky and requires some deliberate line choice. If you've ridden 600-1/-2 at the other end of TNF, it's similar to the worst sections of that...and it's only a half mile or so.

Never been there at all.  I have only ridden the gravel roads at the cahaba wma.  I'll have to see if i can have that long of a pass.

Doesn't look like i have the time.

That was a good time, even if it was cold when we started.

Big props to the guys that rode from B'ham to the meeting place. Good to meet a bunch of new faces and ride with some familiar ones.

Thanks to Kevin for setting up the ride, and Ron for showing us around. I managed to forget both my camera and my phone, so no pics from me. Hopefully there's some coming, looking at all the go pros and phones whipped out at potentially embarrassing moments.
