Without 2020 was a very unusual year because of the pandemic and it affected the riding we did (or didn't do) for the year.  I decided to look back at my riding for the year.  I'd like to see others make inputs as well.

So here goes:

I track my mileage every year.  Here's my 2020 broken down by bike.

Kymco Like 150i:  3941
Kawasaki KLX250: 3766
Kawasaki Versys 650: 3095
Yamaha Majesty:  2814.

So my smallest bike had the most miles for the second year in a row.  I didn't buy my KLX until mid June.  If I had bought it earlier it would have finished first.  I am pretty happy that all of my bikes were ridden a fair amount and none were left gathering dust in the garage.

BTW, that totals up to 13,616  miles.  That's not a great year for me mileage wise but pretty good considering the circumstances.

I went back and reviewed how I accumulated those miles.  I have a ride report on ADV where I write up all of my rides except for local around town rides.  2020 ended up with 72 pages worth of ride report:  https://advrider.com/f/threads/full-throttle-touring-150-through-the-rocket-city.647784/page-139#post-39136497

The year started slow with my Dad in the hospital so I didn't ride a lot the first three months of the year and then COVID hit and that kept me from riding much March and April.

In May did finally went on a trip to North GA. just as they had opened up their restaurants to indoor dining.  I ended up taking 6 multi day, out of state trips in 2020.  Two where to N. GA, two to Tellico Plains and two to Maggie Valley, NC.

I also counted all my "group" rides.  I consider any ride with at least one other rider a group ride.  I did a bunch of group rides on my trips.  A counted up my local group rides and came up with 9 street rides and 13 dual sport rides.  Almost all of those rides were with people I met on this forum or on ADV.  Most of them were posted and organized on this forum.  A few were set up via PM or text.  For people looking for others to ride with this forum is still a great place to look.

So that's my story for 2020.  Let's hear yours!

I didn't keep track of my total mileage for 2020, but between Sep 1st and Oct 20th I rode 12,987 miles during the MS5000 Challenge.  No multi day trips last year, just lots of daily rides.  I would estimate my yearly total to be somewhere around 23-25,000, spread out over 6 bikes.  I completed 2 IBA Saddlesore 1000 rides (1000 miles in less than 24 hours), one in March and one in May. Another highlight of the year was rolling over 100,000 miles on my 2007 Suzuki DR650 that I have owned since new.

I made three multi day trips to the mountains with my CB500X and two with my CRF250L. On top of that, I made countless day rides with Win and others here in North Alabama. Not what I wanted this year but it was all good under the circumstances. I don't track miles but I had plenty of smiles! Thanks Win.

I had the following miles on 3 bikes.  While I did ride more often this year, most of my rides were local.  I only went on two camping trips this year.  Between @thinwater and @klaviator I've discovered a lot of new fun back roads in southern TN that are less than a 20 mile ride from my house.

2019 Vespa GTS 300 11215-9127=2088

Grand total for 2020... 28,749 miles.  This is pretty much all commuting.  Aside from one trip to Suches in July, and 7 or 8 trips to Huntsville for club meetings, all of these miles were within 60 miles of the house.

Only rode 2016 FJR1300A 10,604 miles last year, about same as 2019 but down from 19,723 in 2017.

Mounted 2 rear tires in 2020 (honestly the 2nd was Jan 1, 2021), 1 front. Set a new personal record of 9700 miles on a front tire: Bridgestone T31GT. Previous best was Michelin PR4GT at 8700. The T31GT is now my favorite as it is inexpensive ($110) and rode as good its last mile as its first.

$396.49 for 219 gallons of gasoline, 48.9 MPG.

I do very few day rides so I don't have a lot a mileage, I have no idea how much.   If I am the bike the more than likely I am camping..overnight to three day trips, I do that at least once a month, including the Winter months. I usually take one big trip every year, 2020 was the MABDR, that was about 3,000 miles including riding to Damascus to the start and then home from the New York border.

No real idea how far I rode last year. I usually get at least one or two week plus long road trips in, plus a few long weekends. 2020 meant no trips to watch any races, no real rallies, and only one long weekend in which we hauled the little bikes up to Murphy NC and rode for three days.
I can't commute to work on a bike, although I sometimes sneak a ride in to go to Huntsville for work once a month and cross my fingers I don't need any more tools or parts than I can carry on the bike.
Back when I could commute, I rode 20k plus a year, a 90 mile round trip daily can make the miles add up quick.

I no longer track my mileage.  I was averaging 25,000 miles a year for many years until the end of 2016.  Now I trailer my bikes and ride quality miles instead of quantity miles due to physical limitations.

When March 15th, 2020 hit my world changed a lot.  No work trips.  No commuting.  More personal time.

I decided to convert my 6x12 enclosed trailer into a rustic toy hauler and get in as much camping and riding as possible.

I managed to stay at 16 different locations, 2 of which were hotel rooms, ranging from 2 nights to 7 nights.

I took different bikes and continued to modify the trailer and now can carry two of my smaller bikes at a time to enable street and woods riding.

Attached is a map of the locations.  I might create a new post with highlights of the year in photos.
