Friend with heart issues traded his HD in on an used 02 Honda VTX 1800 with a nice Motor Trike Conversions about 2 years ago.  About a year in, the Heim Joint 1/2" bolt on the Panhard bar sheered off.  Replaced all has been good.  Saturday the rear began to shimmy all around and he barely made it home.  Today he took it to a Motor Trike tech in Minor Hill to discover all the welded tabs on the solid rear axle had broken off completely and only the air shocks were holding the rear axle under the bike.  Surely going to be some loud discussions about what appears to be a design flaw.  In the meantime, if you have a Motor Trike Conversion, I'm suggesting you have the rear end connections carefully inspected.  Minor Hill tech was impressed our Friend made it home without the rear end coming out from under the bike.  Word to the wise!

Holly crap, you know the vtx 1800 has crazy torque and if you get on it you better have a very good trike kit .that's why I have to buy three rear tires to every one front. Better be careful.
