Post by: mega1e6 on September 18, 2016, 03:17:19 PM
PLACE: Flint Creek Multi-Use Trails at Bankhead Forest (Northeast)
Intersection of 196 and 81 (15 miles West southwest of Hartselle, AL)
DATE:   Saturday October 1st 2016
TIME:    8:00 AM

There is US Forest cash fee to use this trail (Honor system).

I have a CRF250X.
I haven't ridden in over 18 months.
I'm a 50+ rider new to the the Huntsville area.
I was hoping I could find some local riders around my age to ride with.

Don't get tired in your search.  I usually ride dual sport, and rather mild at that. Just keep an eye on the let's ride section.  Also, NATRA might be a good investment for you.

Most of us younger guys on here ride well above our age range! Many like to stop and take breaks often.

Hopefully plan to make a trip up to NATRA in mid October!

51 year old dirt/dual-sport/ex-roadracer here.....currently dirtbike-less, but in the market.  I ride a KLR650 and a Yamaha Super Tenere, also have a couple of projects, a "75 Kawasaki KT250 and a "72 Honda CL350 Scrambler.....

I'll be buying another dirtbike soon.

Do you do any racing?  hare-scrambles?.....how about the Perry Mountain 24 Hour Challenge?  ever done it?  If not, would you?  solo, or team?

One thing you'll learn about this site, we are riders. We have riders from 20 to 60+, every style and size bike, every skill level, from every walk of life. When the helmet goes on and the leg goes over the bike, we just want to ride.

Take off the 50+ part and post up a ride. Place, date, time. You may have 2 show or you may have 30 show.

Watch the forum Let's Ride, Planned Rides and Events. Jump in when you see something you like.

Don't let Al fool you, he will take that KLR to places most are scared to take a small 2-stroke.

I may be able to ride Oct. 1st

I'm 50-50 on making the ride.

Not very good offroad and 87 years if you add mine and my bike's age.

you're an hour and a half from some of the most extensive and carrying single track in the southeast. West Point Tennessee has it all, for sixty bucks A YEAR. get a membership before they close it off to new members, NATRA is an excellent riding community  , completely centered on woods and racing.

your shin dig sounds fun, I'll try and bring my smoker up to play.

I plan on being there. Blue DRZ400S with full on knobbies. I live about 25 min away. I'm old and have back issues this year ( one back surgery ), but if I can get on my bike I can still ride. I'll bring Geritol. :)
