Yesterday was rainy so I decided to do some riding where it was a little drier:

Hello my name is Tony and I'm a motoholic.
Seriously thanks for getting us back on the road. Looking forward to riding with my old friends again soon.

Awesome and that color is sweet
Nice looking Versys, my FJ is feeling pretty lonely around here.
During my ride yesterday a rider came up behind me. While I normally love having company this encounter was kind of odd. Maybe not. I'll let you decide. I am pretty sure this person used their horn several times when they first came up behind me wanting me to let them pass. Thinking this, I slowed and took to the right side of the road, the rider didn't pass me. I waved, they didn't pass. At this point I decided to just go ahead and ride my ride. During the next several miles they would get a little too close to me for me to be comfortable. Here is where I feel I made a mistake. I started riding faster, letting this individual push me a bit, not much but I was just wanting a relaxing cruise before the afternoon's busy schedule set in. Eventually they pulled off, but I realized that I didn't get what I wanted out of the ride. Don't get wrong, loved to be out riding since it was a near perfect day but that has stuck with me for some reason. Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there. How do you handle such things?

If they will not pass most of the time they just want you to pull over to talk. Talk about bikes, something they saw on your bike that interested them or caused alarm.
It is up to you of course to pull over. If you do not want to, don't.You could be in a huury to get somewhere or just not feel safe. Ether way, is no biggie.
When that happens, it's usually a beautiful women that owns several really cool bikes that she does all the wrenching on herself. She wants to get to know you because you are so cool and you ride a motorcycle. Happens to me all the time....then I wake up.

Seriously, though. Gorgeous bike.
Found this road today that drops off Signal Mtn. You know it's a tight switchback when a PT Cruiser has to stop and back up to negotiate the turn. I had to perform Gymkhana turns on the right-handers going down.
I'll definitely be incorporating it into an upcoming ride...

A couple of weeks ago, one decided to end it all by wedging itself between the brake hose and fork tube of the Magna. That gives the Magna an air (bird) and a ground (squirrel) "kill". I'm going to have to watch out for low bridge water crossing in case some fish wants a go.

Yes! I hit a squirrel also, about 1-1/2 months ago. We're tied!

I have a Klim Latitude jacket. It's the bomb-digity. It runs a little big. I have an XL and can wear a sweatshirt and a chest protector under it and it's still loose.
I stopped at Pandora's in Chattanooga while passing through the other day. I tried on the Apex and Overland, both in XL...fit great. The Apex was the awesome, but also $800. The Overland lacked some of the adjustment straps and venting, but they were going to make a deal at $375.
Decided to mull it over, and found a 2015 version of the Latitude on Ebay for $450. Also ordered a pair of Latitude Misano pants a few days ago. Other than my mesh gear, I should be able to divest myself of several pants and jackets by going with the Klim suit for most conditions.
Am I right???

Ha! Looks just like him. So sad
So, I'm sitting outside William's Grocery in Arley when this guy pulls in and parks next to me...
He had his sleeveless shirt with the 2nd Amendment patch on the back...
He had the skull and crossbones do-rag and mirrored shades....
He had a confederate flag and a POW/MIA flag on his bike....
He had the tassles....
And I was trying not to be judgmental....
But then he took off his helmet, and I realized that he had a fake ponytail...
Mountain Dew came out of my nose...
Thankfully, the carbonation stung my sinuses and stopped any outright laughing...
I'm sure that that saved me from an attempted beating by "Bad Boy Brad".

It's nice. I think the lower wind protection could use a little more contours...but very nice.
Cycle World in Gadsden has the new CRF1000L. First one I've seen outside the internets. Someone has dropped it...minor scratches...looks great though....but man, it's HUGE.
Every bike in the shop has a price tag on it except that one....I figured that was a hint...didn't even ask.

I rode the big TN dirt loop yesterday and didn't see a single bike of any kind for 288 miles...not totally surprised since it was a work day. But I would expect to see somebody riding on the way up there and back.
Today, I rode about 120 miles of GPSKevin's TAT and only saw three cruisers.
A day at the track and then come home for this. Awesome!
keep beggin folks to look out for you and others to pray for you if you want to but I'm gonna keep on driving the bike and watching all these shortbuses real close.
I was run off the road into a ditch last week coming home after visiting with my cousin at the funeral home, his dad passed. the irony was not lost on me at all.
no, I didn't crash, I rode that mutha into and out of the ditch like a champ and waited on mister "im in a hurry so fuck you" in the middle of the street. he/she declined to speak to me and reversed into a Tahoe, good enough, I got things to do.

Rainy day football not a total waste...found this new sport!
i don't ride my dirtbike near as much as i used to, to the point that i put it up for sale every so often. but then i get it out, kick it once, ride around the yard and the sale add just disappears. i really enjoy that little play bike. it wheelies, jumps, stops, and crashes with a happyness all its own. i can sometimes feel her smiling at me when i get a little too reckless on her, she approves but knows my skill level isn't quite there yet so i need a spanking (those are a lot more forgiving than the ones the streetbike can give though so i'm good with it)
happyness is sweet asswhipping given as only a 2stroke can

I've been riding some....since the cursed outage. Then ,two weeks ago, it got real. I got to ride my friend's motocross bike. YZ250 with 290 topper....holy cow...not recommended for folks doubting the 3rd KLR they just got. 4th gear power wheelies...who ever heard of such mystical-ness. It was fun. We taught the flint trail a lesson or two. It taught us a few things too....like you're 50 dude....chill out! Fortune favors the downhill direction on a KLR. Not so much on a 250. I took the 650 but longed for my little XT. Maybe the orange mirage is the answer. The YZ changed my perspective. Some things I wish I'd learned years ago. The flint creek trail is torn up enough for the thrill seekers....and unfamiliar to the old turds. I'm surprised by how much it changed in a year or two. The side-by-sides just tractor right up those craggy rocks....and I'm pretty sure they caused the craggy rocks. 650 downhill was not so bad. Don't think I would have made it going up. I have really fallen as a picture taker? No more, I vow. Raise hell and sling rocks, I say....not really...the YZ euphoria made me say it...that thing was fun. Disclosure: flint creek almost made me eat sand....I cannot ride in sand...even on a small bike.

The joy of living in Jefferson County...
Went today and transferred the title and purchased the tag for the TE610 I bought a couple of weeks ago. MSRP in 2006 was $7199, and I paid considerably less considering it's an eleven year old dirt bike.
JeffCo's assessed value for taxation purposes?
$9,000 >:(
Edit: Figured out the problem. The clerk listed the correct info on the title app...just noticed on the registration that she listed it as a 2006 Mitsubishi 4x4 truck (with the correct Husky VIN). So trip #3 back to the courthouse on Monday....

Yep, 18" with the extra brackets. It's better than any of the others I've tried on the KLRs but it still irritates me at speeds over 50mph. It's entirely possible that I'm overly critical about the issue but I'd honestly rather have no shield than tolerate the turbulence. I keep fiddling with the tilt and height....maybe I'll find the right arrangement some day.

Just a rescue and possible future garage party for WaxVapor. That's all.
finally talked his mom into letting him go racing, got the bike ready that week, mad dash that morning when she finally caved in. remembered everything, he's pumped(and a little nervous). right before the flag drop she turns to me and says "anything happens to him and i'll set you on fire while you sleep motherfucker". flag drops, kick start, drop hammer, first turn banging bars, second turn the guy with him squared it off, nothing dirty or even remotely unpolite really, just took the line away. nate hits the brake and washes the front end out. i watching him, smiling, she's cussing me for everything i'm worth and i see it, he tried to pick up the bike and let it go almost imediatly. i start that way. Nate"i put my hand down, look". looked like he had two wrists, one slightly behind the other. the picture is me holding his arm straight while he takes his helmet off.

The 1400cc Concours ...
