Our wonderful co-host, Melony Goodwin, will be having an extensive back surgery the Monday prior to this event, we just received the call Thursday of the date. The recovery from this surgery will be long and difficult. I'm sorry for any inconvenience, y'all keep an eye open for a possible replacement ride/event before the end of the year.
Y'all keep Melony in your prayers ....we'll update everyone on her progress.
Once again...I apologize for the late notice cancellation.
.It's that time of year again....the time of year where it may rain, thunderstorm, be 35 degrees, or be 90 degrees.....regardless of all that, we'll be riding.
Plenty of camping space. We'll cookout Friday and Saturday night. Breakfast will be served Saturday morning, so no need to worry about that.
The pool will be open, but it'll be DAMN COLD by then.
I had to cancel his ride last year due to unexpected work schedule change, this year it's ON !!!!
I haven't decided on the route yet, there's good riding in southern middle Tennessee, but there's also some riding in Bankhead that we don't hit on your Free State rides.
I'm open to suggestions.
WoooHooooo. I am in.
In!
I have Vacation approved for that Friday. This is going to be fun.
What type of ride is this? Street, ADV, Dualsport??? Difficulty level?

It's a "big bike friendly" dual sport ride. Dirt roads, possibly a sketchy bridge or 2...nothing technical. My wife and I rode it 2-up. input Tenere. There may be some optional more difficult options.
nice ! on the calendar !
I need to go and make sure it's passable, if so...this bridge will be on the route.
On my calendar.
I'm planning on coming. If I don't have a dual sport bike by then I'll lead a street ride.
I am sorry to hear this. I hope Melony makes a speedy recovery. Surgery is never any fun...
Sorry to hear this, Alan. Please let me know if you guys need anything.
Prayers for Melony! Hope both surgery and recovery are successful, and speedy! You take care too, Al! Let us know if you need anything...We're just a phone call/email away!
Hope the surgery goes well!
All, we could still get together and do something if you already had that weekend sectioned off for riding. I know some more local trails east of Huntsville or we could get together in bankhead or something? Thoughts? If there is interest, I can start a new post on it.

I don't hear any interest except by TWJohn. Is anyone else interested in doing something that weekend in place of Al's event? If I don't hear anything else within a couple days, I'll assume there isn't any interest. Thanks.

I'd be up for a day ride if it works out.

Depending on the weather I may be up for a street ride that day. I don't currently have a dual sport bike.
Lynn & I are thinking about heading up to Tellico Plains next weekend with the little dual sports.
There's a group from AdvRider camping at CMT.
While Lynn has a ton of experience street riding, off-road is somewhat new to her. We probably won't be hauling ass or doing difficult single track. Gonna be a relaxing ride on the XT225 and KLX250S.
I would be interested in either a street or a dualsport ride.
Surgery update.
Melony done well in surgery this morning. We'll be here for a couple of nights then head home on Wednesday.
I'd like to apologize once again for the short notice cancellation...
Y'all enjoy whatever ride you take.
best wishes to Melony.
Hope she heals fast and well.
Here's to a speedy recovery!

A month or so ago we went from Chillhowee Campground to TWO on a mostly dirt route. I went to that store across from TWO and there was a motorcycle with a skyscraper of camping gear parked there. I figured it was one of those youtube guys headed to Patagonia, turned out to be Allen and Melony out for few days trip. Good to see you both, I hope Melony has a complete and speedy recovery.

Thats awesome! Good to hear she did ok.
Good to hear she's doing well.
Made it home this afternoon late....all settled in.
Melony is almost an inch taller now....still a long road of physical therapy and healing. She'll be ready to ride around the world come spring. Maybe Nova Scotia will finally be on our horizon next year.
Thanks again for all the prayers.
Glad to hear she is doing well!
For anyone that might have missed it, klaviator posted a ride for tomorrow (saturday). Go check for it in the street rides section. Hope to see some of you there.
