No, it's not THE ride for pie, but A ride for pie.  The difference is that I'm not buying anyone anything.  ;D

But any Bama Rides member is welcome to join the Heritage FaithRiderz  Saturday April 9 as we leave Montgomery at 8AM to go to Greensboro, AL to the Pie Lab.

This is not a particularly scenic ride, but it is always a fun one.

The route will go from Montgomery to Prattville and then through Selma, Marion, and Greensboro.
Returning home will be through Uniontown, Selma, and Hwy 80 back to Montgomery.

Let me know if you'd like to join in!

What time will you arrive in Greensboro?
There's no such thing as a "REAL RIDER!". If you have a motorcycle, you've done all you need to do.

I believe the ride leader for this particular ride is a speed limit kind of rider, so the pace will not be easy going.

The route is laid out thusly:

Over Route:

Leave Heritage and head North on Perry Hill to I-85 West.

I-85/Hwy 31/CR 4/Hwy 14 to Selma, Gas stop (55 mi)

Hwy 14/CR 6/CR 45 to Marion                         (23 mi)

Hwy 14(Green St) to Greensboro, food stop     (20 mi)

Return Route:

Hwy 61 to Uniontown                                       (20 mi)

US 80 to Selma (butt break - Gas stop)            (25 mi)

US 80 home                                                    (55 mi)

Those gas stops tend to stretch into lengthy breaks, but it seems to be an early departure time if the idea is to get a light lunch and pie in Greensboro.  I would expect a late morning arrival, but if you want to shoot me your contact info in a PM, I could send a text when we are leaving that break in Selma.

Greensboro and The Pie Lab are both awesome.

I am hoping to make this ride. I have enjoyed the past rides with the faithriderz. Hope to see you there this time.

I will be there.

However, I did not realize initially that this particular ride is a fund raiser for a special needs Sunday School class (we will give them rides around the parking lot on Sunday afternoon) so there is a $20 charge per bike.

So Bama Rides members may want to wait until another month to join in on our "usually free" rides (except for VWCarlos - you are a regular now and will be expected  8) )

However, if you'd like to donate to a good cause, you are certainly welcome to join in.

I was checking out the route and this should be a fun ride. The roads might not be super curvy but the scenery out that way is nice. I am looking forward to trying some of this pie. I have heard many people talk about this place. I hope it lives up to the hype. Since my grandmother was a competition pie maker from south Georgia I have high standards... ;) Also I would pay $20 bucks to ride with you guys and it sounds like it is for a good cause. Well worth the money.

Is it Saturday yet?  ;D

The last time I was there they featured a chocolate pie with zucchini baked into it.

Fortunately, I was able to find a more traditional chocolate for me.

Make sure y'all get there early for lunch.  It is a popular place, and once the food is gone, he doesn't cook more.  He only has a small kitchen.

We'll just be dropping by for dessert.

Lunch should be around 11 or 11:30 at this fine establishment

It's tradition for those who ride this way (though I have only been there once myself)

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however,  extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity.

If it don't scare you, you ain't doing it right.
