Hi, Everyone!

I thought I'd start this week's Digest off with a fun photo, and an article that's applicable to many of us.  Here we go:

Thanks to Thunder Press for this photo taken at this year's "The Race of Gentlemen" in New Jersey!

Since so many of us are over 50, I'm including this link to an interesting article posted by Motorcycle.com.  The article suggests the top 10 new motorcycles for riders of our vintage...Wonder if you would agree?

http://www.motorcycle.com/top10/top-10-motorcycles-riders-50.html

Though our breakfast crowd this morning was a little lighter than usual, Scott Grant brought his daughter, Skye, who gave us an exciting update on the reconstruction of her Yamaha Enduro motorcycle.  If you haven't already, take a few moments to visit "Skye's Motorbike Monkeywrenching" page on facebook.  You can see how far she's come with the motorcycle she bought for $10 at last year's Barber Vintage Fest.  (Hint:  there's a video of the motorcycle RUNNING!)

With all that fun behind us, let's move forward to some of the fun that lies ahead.  Attached to this email is our September activities calendar, which is jam-packed!

September 2:  Alan Nicholson's Sunday Afternoon BBQ Ride, originating at noon at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 2750 Carl T Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35802.  Alan will lead participants on a newly-explored route from Huntsville to Guntersville for an afternoon binge at The Brick BBQ.  I'll post each week's destination as I get it.

Note:  Both Frank Tarpley and Eric Mills are traveling to Suches for the rally.  Eric is taking his travel trailer up there, and has an extra bunk for anyone who wishes accommodation while at the event.  Contact either Frank or Eric via PM on Facebook if you'd like to link up with them, either for the trip, overnight accommodations, or just to ride while at Suches.

Please note that our planned presentation on Sep 1 by Mike Robinson is postponed.  I'll post when we have everything lined up to hear his stories of his visit to Bonneville.
