North Alabama Vintage Riders Digest for Aug 25, 2018

Hi, Everyone!

Breakfast this morning was great, with tables filled, great food, hot coffee and chatter from one end of the room to the other.  Great selection of bikes in the parking lot as well!                                                                                   

Four of us (along with two spouses) were able to represent NAVMC at Dan Marrs' memorial service this afternoon.  The funeral home's chapel was all but packed with friends and family, and the service was wonderfully performed by Dan's brother-in-law.  Here's the view from the front step of the funeral home.  The parking lot surrounding the facility was already packed, so the group of riders assembled their bikes across the street.  Watch our page on Facebook:  Mike Long is posting the slide show that scrolled throughout visitation time at Dan's memorial service today.

August 26:  Alan Nicholson's Sunday Afternoon BBQ Ride, originating at noon at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 2750 Carl T Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35802.  Alan will lead participants on a newly-explored route from Huntsville to New Market for an afternoon binge at New Market BBQ.  Please note that, due to the unanticipated popularity of Alan's Sunday rides, we are adding this weekly activity to our Recurring Events Calendar!  I'll post each week's destination as I get it.

Sep 1:  Mike Robinson will share with us his experiences at the Bonneville Salt Flats earlier this month.  Be at breakfast at the Blue Plate next Saturday to enjoy this discussion!
