North Alabama Vintage Riders Digest for July 14, 2018

Hi, Everyone!

At last, I'm able to publish an updated newsletter!  Many thanks to Mike Long for helping compile a list of upcoming events.

**We have a change in our Recurring Events Lineup:  The Thursday night gathering at The Brick Deli in Decatur is discontinued, though the staff of The Brick still welcomes riders anytime we're in the area and have an appetite.**

Now on to our upcoming events:

As a preface, let me note that only a few of the events I list are actually endorsed or recognized as "NAVMC-supported" events.  I list all of the events I can find that:
- Are relevant and offer show categories or other venues through which to showcase vintage motorcycles, even though the preponderance of the show's/rally's composition is focused elsewhere (i.e. Lynchburg's annual motorcycle rally).
- Present opportunities to promote our passion, particularly when we can introduce our sport to young people
- Feature events or activities in which NAVMC members are participating.  Examples include:
     - Flat track racing, where we typically have Tom Schuman, Frank Conseglia, and other members/friends participating
     - Dania Beach, FL Motorcycle Show where NAVMC member and south Florida resident Bob Brandtner judges and participates
     - The Huntsville, AL Distinguished Gentlemens' Ride, which is chaired by NAVMC founder Charles Quillen
     - The activities of the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club-USA, of which NAVMC member Sean Naylor is National President

When an activity is one of our "NAVMC-supported" events, I ensure to publish it in bold print, usually highlighted to lend emphasis.  The two primary examples of such activities are Barber Vintage Fest and the Athens, AL Car and Bike Show.  NAVMC has increasing involvement in Veterans benefit activities, both around Veterans Day and Christmas, and when we schedule those activities, I'll use the same publishing tools to emphasize their significance to The Club.

July 17th:  Our second Flash Mob of the season, at Straight to Ale, 2610 Clinton Ave W, Huntsville, AL 35805.  Riders will begin gathering at 5 pm, but our goal is to pack the place starting at 6.  Come out and join the fun!

July 21st10-2:  3rd Annual Cars, Concerts, and Craft Beer, at AM Booth's Lumberyard, Huntsville.
