Planning for Moto Camping

I am sick and tired of this weather! But I am using the time to prep for Moto camping. JBMFT shared a cool link in another thread and I noticed this subforum was near empty. Winter is a good time to plan and prepare. Gear is "off season"(?) and on sale!

I'll post more pics when I get a chance. I have added a few new things to my gear. This is one of my favorites. $10 at WalMart. About the size of my hand. I won't be felling any forests, but in a pinch it will cut the end off of a Christmas tree that is too tall 8)

So I assume it will work just fine for survival or a simple campfire.

I bought a folding camp saw earlier this year and I won't camp without it. It is fantastic and I have made quick work of turning drop wood into a campfire.

Also got a Cold Steel Bushman. Nothing fancy but you won't beat yourself up if you lose it and you can use it as a spear. Good stuff.

Andy, I waited for it to actually get here to check. It doesn't say anything about metric or SAE. But I didn't buy it for the hex wrench. I needed a hammer for tent stakes, needed small for packing and the axe is bonus for emergency use. I don't expect it to do a major job. But I don't need it to do a major job. I will be mostly in campgrounds where firewood is available to buy.

Got the rest of my gear in today. All my camping and cooking gear fits in my Medium waterproof Helen Two Wheels duffle: (womens size 7 show for size comparison)



Top L to R:
Tent, thermorest pillow, sleeping bag, JetBoil and fuel, grill, ziplock box with utensils, dishrag, soap, can opener, corkscrew, dish soap(ziplock can be used as dishpan), cup

Bottom L to R:
Sleeping pad, chair, paracord, hatchet/hammer, 1gal water bladder, cooking bag for meals(just add boiling water to dehydrated meals).
