I have several maintenance items that I need to do before the trip to the Keys next month.

Before I can start on the Harley, I have to make room in the garage. In order to make room, I need to move my lathe. To move the lathe, I have to build a set of machinery skates. Follow along as I take you through the process of building skates, moving lathe, cleaning shop and prepping the bike.

Skates -

Materials - channel iron, rod rod, bearings and clips

3 stages of the axles

welded up and painted

ready to work

under the lathe

before the move and cleanup

After the move and room to work on bike

I have a set of machinery skates. I thought I offered to loan them to you. Either way, nice job on the skates. It's kinda fun just being able to make stuff isn't it?

you did and I appreciate the offer. They didn't cost much and now I have them anytime I need them. They came in handy last night after I got the bike on the table and then needed to move the table.
